REPORTING A MEMBER ON PINTEREST

Help keep PINTEREST SAFE

Have you noticed a lot of  SPAM   lately .. Its because of the re-pin option offered on Pinterest. Its a great option if you like a photo, an image even a funny little cartoon  Its a great time saver too. If your not interested in finding where to buy the outfit  but like the style  we hit re pin to our board... If you just love the  color of the  nails  but you really dont have the time at that moment  to click it and look into what brand or how to get the effect we click  re pin for later when we have time to investigate that information.  Re pinning without clicking all the way through is  one of the great options that Pinterest offers. What we didnt  realized is that that  photo we didnt click may in fact be a click away to a spam site to add to the spam we now offered that pin, which has the spam in it to all out followers.  We have all come across those nasty  clicks you know the one's .. WINNER!!!YOU HAVE WON  THE SCAVENGER HUNT PRIZE ON PINTEREST  or the  WINNER  YOU ARE ONE CLICK AWAY FROM THE PRIZE ....so of them take forever to get out of most likely having to x out of the page altogether. and what we should to is report the pin. and yes that is  great  because Pinterest has taken great strides in quickly disabling the bad pins. I look into if there are signs that this is  either a random bad re pin or if the member is in fact a bot or person who is posting 100's of spam pins.  It seems the only option that Pinterest has at the moment is click pin by pin and report each pin  one at a time. but there IS ANOTHER OPTION. Below is the link to click to start a ticket
All you need to do is copy the URL of the  person you want to report . Go to their profile page . Then click the link below and   under the what do you need help with go to the drop down  go SPAM then REPORT USER .. (This is also where you can BLOCK USERS too).  after you do that  subject is SPAM the in the description this is where you past the URL of the offending profile/member then click submit.

I also attached a couple little tidbits.  ..

If you click a pin and the picture has a link that has a (bit.)  it is a bad click DO NOT CLICK almost always  a bit. is a URL to a  SPAM  site.
Bit is a  site that  make a smaller URL address  it hide the real URL which most SPAM artists  want to do until it is to late for you to realize that it is a SPAM link.  So  keep your eye out for this  little thing its
Pinned 3 weeks ago from bit.ly <<<<<<<<<< Bad

Below is a screen shot of a SPAM pin I came across today  The #1 is the broad it  is under   Books/DVD   the www is the site.  SKIN CARE (notice board topic dont match) and  and the number after is the  bot/persons code so they get the credit ...
We all sometimes post somthing in the wrong board but when most are wrong there is a problem.

Another  little sign is when the person has 200 boards and only one pin under each board.

IF WE ALL HELP OUT  A LITTLE BIT WE CAN  KEEP THESE NASTY THINGS UNDER CONTROL .

Hope this helped
